Science is all around us waiting to be discovered. Whether exploring, investigating, or mixing materials together campers will have a fun-filled week making predictions then testing them out. Baking, bubbles, art, water, soil and more.

This camp is for children entering Grades One or Two this September 2025.

This week the STEAM campers will begin to explore the topics of coding with a Minecraft for Education Base Camp Build and mBot Rescue Mission. They will consider math in the kitchen by exploring trail mix ratios and design blueprints for their "ideal" summer camp including concepts such as measurement, scaling and symmetry before trying to build these blueprints in our shared virtual world. 

Outdoors, the STEAM Campers will participate in Unplugged Coding: Human Algorithms where they will work in pairs as a robot and a programmer practicing giving step by step instructions to complete tasks along the way.

This week, the Outdoor Adventurers will learn the skills they need to be prepared for a summer of adventure. We will create personal first aid kits for campers to store in their backpack and learn how to use them. We will talk about emergency preparedness and what to do in an emergency, as well as how to build a campfire and begin learning how to use tools safely to expand our adventures later this summer.

A Young Explorer is a child 4-5 years of age entering Grade Primary in September 2025.

Cool off in the summer heat with our wet and wild camp ideas! Campers will engage in pool fun, water tag (not in the pool), water obstacle courses and more.

Campers will continue building their skills and knowledge around campfires, tool safety, and knot tying.

Using Minecraft Edu campers will create a magical forest with magical creatures and the ultimate guardians. Take it outside and forage for materials to bring back to the Makerspace to construct 3D guardians to take their place in the CKEC forest.

Do you have what it takes to be a super sleuth indoors and out? Prepare for a week filled with mysteries, puzzles and challenges, all waiting to be unlocked. Create a binary code and challenge others to crack your code!  The contents of this camp may be top secret but campers can be sure that their week will be filled with fun.

This week campers will face a new challenge each day to test their new adventure skills. From tarp troubles to exploring alternative routes through the forest and testing our emergency response skills - campers will work together to use the skills that they have learned to overcome The Great Challenge!

This week campers will level up their coding skills through fun, hands-on challenges that combine technology, problem-solving, and outdoor play! The STEAM campers will participate in a mBot Robotics Challenge called "Debug the Maze" where campers will program the mBot Robots to navigate a maze with obstacles. Campers will be introduced to concepts such as sequencing, loops and problem solving. Outdoors, campers will participate in activities such as If/Then Tag learning about conditional statements and practice being code breaking by creating pixel art on graph paper and then converting them into coordinate-based coding instructions for a partner to recreate. The week will culminate in the campers collaborating to create a DIY Rube Goldberg Machine.

Discover a world of imagination with your favourite mythical creatures such as Pokemon, unicorns, dragons, fairies, & mermaids! Get creative and make your own Pokemon cards, unicorn horns. Mold and design 3D creatures with mixed media. Get outside and explore the woods for signs that creatures have been there.

This week campers will be harnessing the elements of Fire, Water, Wind and Earth, bringing them together to tame the beast of the forest! Fulfill quests of endurance, agility, teamwork and resourcefullness to earn the elemental gems needed to lull the beast back to sleep.

This week, campers become STEAM wizards, using science, technology, and coding to unlock magical mysteries. Through hands-on experiments, creative builds, and outdoor quests, discover the science behind spells, craft enchanted gadgets, and embark on coding adventures. Using Minecraft Edu complete quests such as building a wizard tower using Redstone-powered traps and secret doors or a potion lab where Redstone triggers special effects. Campers will follow a series of logic-based coding clues to find the hidden spellbook using directional coding, pattern recognition and problem solving to discover the spellbook on our enchanted woods.

Oh no, the human "robots" are acting strange, codes are all mixed up - what a mess! Campers use the skills that they have learned to debug and set things right.  Things might get a little messy as campers enjoy a week of ooey, gooey fun.

Construct guardians to protect the forest and those who walk its paths. Explore nature and create with the bounty it has provided.
